Liverpool Leave It Late Against Atletico

Millers Humble Foxes

Phil Scolari’s Chelsea side were comfortably beaten in Rome as Mirko Vucinic’s double handed out last year’s finalist’s first defeat of this season’s campaign.

Christian Panucci took advantage of Chelsea’s slack defending, before Vucinic added an impressive double to sink the Blue’s.

John Terry managed to pull a goal back for the visitors but it was too little too late.
Steven Gerrard rescued a point for Liverpool in the dying minutes at Anfield.

The influential midfielder won his side a debatable penalty in the last minute of injury time, stepping up to coolly place it past Franco in the Atletico goal.

Maxi Rodriguez’s opener for Madrid seemed to have secured the visitor’s with a deserved victory, but Gerrard ensured that the Reds remained in contention for top spot, and almost certainly booked their place in the knockout stages.

Rotherham continued their run in the St Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, progressing to the quarter finals after this excellent win over Leicester City.

Goals from Drewe Broughton and Dale Tonge sealed the win, which caps an impressive start to the season for the club who are now on a positive points score, having being punished for entering administration last season.
