George Burley has been unveiled as the new Scotland manager. The 51-year-old signed a contract until 2012 after the Scottish Football Association agreed a compensation package with his former club, Southampton.
Meanwhile, Southampton have put John Gorman and Jason Dodd in caretaker charge.

Geoff Thompson will step down as chairman of the Football Association on January 31 to make way for Lord Triesman - the FA’s first independent chairman. Thompson said: “It would be in the best interests of the FA to allow Lord David Triesman to take up his new appointment at his earliest opportunity.”
Plymouth Argyle have signed 22-year-old Exeter City striker Jamie Mackie for an initial fee of £145,000 will rise with add-ons depending on appearances and international call-ups.
Watford have signed full-back Mathew Sadler from Birmingham City on a three-and-a-half year deal for an initial fee of £750,000. The Blues have also inserted a sell-on clause into the agreement for the 22-year-old.
