Stoke City forward Vincent Pericard has been re-arrested because of problems with his electronic tag after he was released from jail. The French striker was given a four-month jail sentence in August for trying to lie his way out of a speeding conviction.

Hibernian manager John Collins has turned down an approach from managerless Queens Park Rangers to take the reigns at Loftus Road.

Northwich Victoria - who are due to face a winding up petition from HM Revenue and Customs next week over an unpaid tax bill of over £350,000 - could be saved by a consortium of Manchester-based businessmen, who have reportedly agreed to invest in the club.

League One leaders Tranmere Rovers were held to a goalless draw by Walsall at Prenton Park while Hartlepool United recorded a 1-0 home victory against Bristol Rovers. James Brown scored the only goal of the game after 39 minutes.

In League Two, Rochdale picked up three points on the road with a 1-2 victory over Grimsby Town. Morecambe beat visitors Bradford City 2-1. Chester City and Hereford United drew 1-1 at the Deva Stadium while Brentford’s match with Rotherham United at Griffin Park also ended 1-1.
